The Tribalise base configuration has been designed to provide the basic infrastructure to allow all Tribe Owners to implement a basic functionality website right away.
The base configuration includes configurable menu tabs displaying and accessing the content for such things as “Home”, “About Us”, “Products”, “News”, “Contact Us” etc and basic content management for articles photos and videos. The benefit of the base configuration is the speed and ease to keep it current, make changes, evolve and enhance it from a wide range of optional components.
There are unlimited menus tabs and content categories, a large variety of templates for layout, effects position and colour and many options on the presentation of content.

USER MANAGEMENT
The Tribalise registration system allows you to configure personal options on the each site. There are nine user groups, each with various permissions levels that determine what users are allowed to access, edit, publish and/or administrate.
Authentication is a key component of user management. Tribalise supports multiple protocols, including LDAP, OpenID, and even Gmail. This allows all Tribe Leaders to use their existing account information to streamline and expedite the registration process.
MEDIA MANAGER
The Media Manager tool lets you manage media files or folders in a very simple, intuitive way. You can configure the MIME type settings to handle any type of file. To make media management easy, Tribalise has integrated the Media Manager into the Article Editor tool so you can grab images and other files at any time.
CONTACT MANAGEMENT
The Contact Manager helps the user find the right person and their respective contact information. It also allows multiple contact forms to reach specific individuals, as well as groups.
SEARCH
The Search tool helps you direct the user to the most popular search items. Additionally, it provides the Administrators with search statistics.
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Tribalise's simplified three-tiered system of articles makes organizing your content a snap. Your users can rate articles, e-mail them to a friend, or automatically save a PDF (with UTF-8 support for all languages). Administrators can archive content for safekeeping, hiding it from site visitors. Built-in e-mail cloaking protects email addresses from spambots on all public web sites.
Creating content is simple with the WYSIWYG editor. Even novice users can easily combine text and images in an eye-catching way. Once you've created your articles, there are a number of pre-installed modules to show case the most popular ones, latest items, newsflashes, related articles, and more.
SYNDICATION AND NEWSFEED MANAGEMENT
With Tribalise, you can syndicate your site content effortlessly - our integrated system allows your users to subscribe to new content in their favourite RSS reader. It's equally simple to include RSS feeds from other sources and aggregate them all on your site.
MENU MANAGER
The Menu Manager allows you to create as many menus and menu items as you need. You can structure your menu hierarchy, as well as nested menu items, independently from your content structure. You can place any one menu in multiple places and in any style you like throughout your site. You can choose between rollovers, dropdown, fly outs and just about any other navigation system you can think of. Also automatic breadcrumbs are generated to help your users navigate within your site.
TEMPLATE MANAGEMENT
Templates in Tribalise are a powerful way to make your site look exactly the way you want. You have the option of using a single template for the entire site or a separate template for each section. The level of visual control goes a step further with potent template overrides, allowing you to customize each page component as your discretion.
SYSTEM FEATURES
Speedy page loads are possible with page caching, granular-level module caching, and GZIP page compression.
Debugging mode and error reporting make troubleshooting a breeze for your System Administrator. Your Administrators can communicate quickly and efficiently with users through private one-on-one messaging, or with all site users via the mass mailing system.
WYSIWYG EDITOR
This component is a set of tools with Office-like functions and familiar buttons to make formatting simple to create the kind of content you want, without limitations, and without needing to know or learn HTML editor).

ACCESS CONTROL LEVEL MANAGEMENT
This component allows you additional control over what content is available to which users for example; customers have a different access to suppliers. It also means that certain staff can have restricted access to administer different sections of the website for example; to administer the content for different divisions or products.
DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT
This component allows you full automatic control over documents, in a way that specific documents can be offered to visitors, registered users, intranet users, staff or paying customers. The group permission feature lets you choose which users can access certain documents.
• The documents can be organized across custom categories and subcategories
• Documents can be owned by a specific registered user, a group of registered users, all registered users or everybody.
• You can display a download counter per document and all the downloads can be logged (by user, IP, browser, date and hour)
• Documents can be searched by name and/or description.
GENERATE ARTICLES FROM THE FRONT END
This component allows you to create front-end "Submission forms" that publish to specific areas of the website. For example HR policy group can only publish to the HR Policy section and staff reporting incidents can only publish to the HR Incident section.
COMMENTS
This component allows visitors and or members by classification (e.g. staff, customers, suppliers etc) to comment on specific products, services or issues. This can be a powerful tool to engage specific audiences to receive feedback and have them participate in shaping the business.

RSS MANAGEMENT
Really Simple Syndication is a format for content distribution. People subscribing to your RSS feeds allows them keep up to date with business changes, news of new products or services, sponsored blogs etc. Often, but not always, just the headlines and descriptions are imbedded in the RSS feeds with links back to your website for the full story. Any new articles from any category can be configured to trigger an RSS feed.

CONTACT
This component allows safe and complex contact information gathering forms to be generated on your website with custom fields, attachments and CAPTCHA. CAPTCHA is a test to ensure that a real person is providing the information and not a machine. The test displays images of distorted text for keying back in by the user.
